Shipping & Chartering Manager

Job purpose:

• Managing, supervising chartering and operations.
• Chartering vessels on the spot and t/c contracts.

Main responsibilities:

• Charter safe and competitive tonnage for the trading.
• Provide market information, evaluation, and shipping opportunities to the trading.
• Manage the team to have efficient shipping operations 24 hours a day.
• Provide reporting on the company activity.
• Manage strategy and relationship with third parties (owners, brokers, agents).

• You are entrusted to implement the strategy and to manage the company.
• Being proactive and innovative, you are expected to be highly reliable, promote excellence, good governance and HSSEQ principles across the company and always consider the company’s reputation in particular respecting the Code of Conduct.
• Being a role model, you are responsible for your personal results, along with the results of the company with a particular commitment to the development of the members of your team.
• Participate in the recruitment of personnel for the Shipping team.

 Education required:

• Master Degree or equivalent or qualified by experience.
• Minimum 15 years relevant experience with ship owners, charterers, or shipbrokers.
• A good network within the shipping community.
• Fluent in written/oral English and French (professional negotiation level).
